Master Guide: Navigating the Side App
A complete orientation to the Side App — from logging in for the first time to understanding every section of your dashboard.
1 Accessing the Side App
All Side tools are accessed through a single sign-on portal called Okta. Once you're logged into Okta, every tool you have access to — Side App, Google Workspace, Follow Up Boss, Canva, DCB, and more — is available from one dashboard.
Logging In (Desktop)
- Open Google Chrome — Side tools work best in Chrome and may behave unexpectedly in other browsers.
- Navigate to sideagent.okta.com.
- Sign in with your Side provisioned (branded) email address and your Okta password. Do not use a personal email — only your Side email will work.
- From the Okta dashboard, click the Side App tile to launch the app.
Logging In (Mobile)
- Download and open the Chrome browser app on your mobile device (iOS or Android). Chrome is recommended for the best mobile experience.
- Navigate to sideagent.okta.com in Chrome.
- Log in with your Side branded email and Okta password. If this is your first time, check your personal email for the Okta invitation and create your password there first.
- From the Okta dashboard, tap the Side App tile.

If you've switched phones and need to transfer your Okta Verify account, follow the Okta Help Center instructions linked in this article.
3 Your Home Page Dashboard
The Home Page is your at-a-glance view of everything in motion. Here's what you'll find top to bottom:
Needs Attention
The first thing you see — cards flagging every transaction that requires action before it can move forward. Each card represents a category of issue. Click any card to see all affected transactions. See Section 4 below for a full breakdown of what each card means.
Search Transactions
A quick-search bar for jumping directly to any transaction by property name or address. If a transaction isn't appearing in search results, check three things:
| Reason | What to Do |
|---|---|
| The transaction has been archived | Navigate to Listings, Offers, or Leases and click Archived in the top right to search there. |
| The transaction hasn't been created yet | Use Create New in the sidebar to start it. |
| You don't have access to it | Ask the transaction owner to grant you visibility from their Account → Team settings. |
Quick Links
Shortcut icons for your most-used actions — directly from the home screen without navigating through the sidebar. Currently includes: Canva, Create a New Offer, Create a New Listing, Create a New Lease, and Side Stack & Marketplace.
Side Listings
A live feed of Off Market and Coming Soon listings across the Side network, shown directly on the home page. Click Explore Side Listings to see the full feed. Note that Side Listings is not available in all states — agents in Oregon, Washington, Kentucky, and Ohio will not see this section.
Facts & Figures
At the bottom of the Home Page — donut graphs showing your in-progress transactions broken down by status, separately for Listings, Offers, and Leases. Click any segment to jump to the filtered transaction list for that status. Terminal statuses (closed, expired, withdrawn, cancelled) are excluded — these graphs show active pipeline only. Use the Created and Agents dropdowns in the top right of this section to filter by date range or team member.
Updating an Incorrect Transaction Status
Status corrections must be made on the transaction itself — not from the Home Page. Go to the Listings, Offers, or Leases list view, click the status on the transaction card, and update it in the top left corner. Refresh the page to see Facts & Figures reflect the change.
4 The Needs Attention Section
The Needs Attention cards at the top of your Home Page flag every transaction that requires action before it can move forward. The screenshot above shows two example cards — Compliance Review Incomplete and Envelopes Need Reminders. Here's what each possible card means:
- Compliance has not been submitted yet
- Documents rejected — review comments and re-upload corrected versions
- Compliance is on hold — check email for reason and next steps
- An envelope has been sent but not all parties have signed
- Sent more than 1 day ago — consider sending a reminder from the Documents section
- Commission form not yet submitted (approaching COE)
- Instant Pay eligible — transaction needs certification
- Required fields on the Cover Sheet are incomplete
- Click the orange bubble on the Cover Sheet to see exactly what's missing
5 Working with Transactions
Creating a New Transaction
Click Create New at the top of the left sidebar and select the transaction type: Listing, Offer, or Lease. You can also navigate directly to the Listings, Offers, or Leases tab and use the create button there. Always enter the property address by selecting it from the dropdown that appears — do not type it manually. This ensures the correct state-approved documents are loaded and MLS data is pulled correctly.
Archiving & Unarchiving Transactions
You cannot delete a transaction — you can only archive it. To archive, click the three dots on the transaction tile and select Archive. Archived files are retained for 5 years to satisfy compliance regulations. To unarchive, navigate to the Archived section (top right of the transaction tab), find the file, click three dots, and select Unarchive.
Granting Transaction Access to Team Members
If a TC, admin, or fellow agent needs to see your transactions, you — as the transaction owner — must grant access. Access is all-or-nothing: you either give someone visibility to all your transactions or none. It cannot be restricted to a single file.
- Click your name in the lower-left corner of the Side App sidebar.
- Click Account → Team tab.
- Find the team member requesting access and toggle both access buttons to On. Toggle to Off to remove access.
Key Things That Auto-Save vs. Don't
| Feature | Saves Automatically? |
|---|---|
| All Cover Sheet fields (except Listing Price) | ✅ Yes — saves as you go |
| Listing Price on the Cover Sheet | ❌ No — must be manually saved |
| Commission form drafts | ✅ Yes — via "Save As Draft" button |
| Document changes after sending to DocuSign | ❌ No — envelope must be duplicated and resent |

| Bank account for commission payments | Account → Manage Bank Accounts | Click Manage Bank Accounts — re-authentication required for security. |

What Requires Support to Update
| Setting | How to Request |
|---|---|
| Profile photo in the Side App | Contact chat support or email help@side.com with the photo you'd like to use. |
| Delegate configuration for commission forms | Email help@side.com — up to 3 delegates can be configured per agent. |
| Primary brand color, logo, or accent color | Contact your Business Manager or email help@side.com. |
7 Team Management & Onboarding Partners Admins
Partners and Team Admins can manage team membership and transaction visibility directly in the Side App. This section covers adding team members and managing access.
Adding a New Team Member
- From the sidebar, click Create New or navigate to Team Management in your Account settings.
- Click Add Team Member and select the appropriate role.
- Fill in the new member's personal details and submit.
Transaction Visibility: Who Sees What by Default
| Role | Default Visibility | Needs Approval? |
|---|---|---|
| Partners | All transactions for their entire brand | No |
| Transaction Coordinators | All transactions for their team | No |
| Associate Agents | Only transactions where they are listed as a transacting agent | Yes — must be granted by transaction owner |
| Co-Listing Agents | Only transactions where they are listed | Yes — must be granted by transaction owner |
No. When you grant someone visibility to your transactions, they can see all of them — there is no way to restrict access to a single file. Grant access only to people who genuinely need visibility across your transaction history.
8 Community & Workvivo
Side's internal community platform is Workvivo. It's where you'll find the Referral Exchange, regional Metro Spaces, agent groups, and Side events. Access it directly from the sidebar link or from your Okta dashboard.
Access the Referral Exchange, Metro Spaces, Masterminds, events, and the Daily Digest. Log in with your Side branded email via Okta.
Side Listings
Side Listings is the exclusive listing feed for the Side network — visible to all Side agents. It surfaces Off Market, Coming Soon, and Active listings from Side agents across the country.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Will my listing appear automatically? | Yes — if your listing status is Coming Soon, Off Market, On Market, Active, or Active Contingent, and your seller's email is on the Cover Sheet, it will automatically appear. The Promote on Side Listings toggle in the Cover Sheet defaults to on for eligible listings. |
| How do I opt out? | Go to your listing's Cover Sheet and turn the Promote on Side Listings toggle off. Your listing is removed from Side Listings immediately. |
| When is a listing removed automatically? | When an offer is accepted, or when the listing status changes to an ineligible status (Pending, Closed, Cancelled). It stays in Side Listings if neither of these applies. |
| Where do photos come from? | Photos are pulled from the MLS when available. You can also upload your own photos to the listing. Photos are optional — other agents can view them by clicking into the listing. |
| Can I share a listing? | Yes — Active listings can now be shared in Side Listings alongside Coming Soon and Off Market listings. |
| Is Side Listings available in my state? | Not in all states. Side Listings is currently unavailable in Oregon, Washington, Kentucky, and Ohio due to compliance requirements. |
9 Reports
The Reports section of the Side App gives you access to your transaction history, earnings, and performance data. Navigate to it from the left sidebar. Reports is currently in Beta.

| Team Leads | Their sub-team's data only. No visibility into brand or Side shares of commissions. |
| Agents | Their own transactions and earnings only. |
Key Features

- Goal tracking: Progress bars show how close you are to Sales Volume, Total Transactions, and Average Sale Value goals — updates based on your active filters.
- Year-over-year comparison: Enable prior year toggles to overlay last year's data on charts, or use the comparison view to see current vs. same period one year prior.
- Custom columns: Click any column header → Manage Columns to add additional data points to tables.
- Export: Export tables as CSV (importable to Google Sheets) or charts as PNG images. Exports reflect your current filters and all visible columns.
- Glossary: Hover over any metric for a quick definition, or click the Glossary button to browse all terms.
- Team vs. individual view: Group data by agent or team and combine with filters for focused analysis.
Financial Reports
For a straightforward earnings history, use Financial Reports within the Reports section. Filter by date range and download as CSV. Available to all Partners and Associate Agents. If you're an S-Corp and don't receive a 1099, this is the best way to review your annual earnings. You can also email tax@side.com to request a full property commission breakdown.

Live Training & Learning
Side offers regular live training sessions and has a library of recorded trainings available through 360Learning (accessible via your Okta dashboard or directly at side.360learning.com). The Side Live Training Calendar (requires 360Learning login) lists upcoming sessions — you can add any event directly to your personal calendar. Search "live training" within 360Learning to browse past recordings.
11 Troubleshooting Login
Make sure you're using your Side provisioned (branded) email address — not a personal one. Side tools only work with your Side email. If the email is correct, try resetting your Okta password: go to sideagent.okta.com, click "Forgot Password," and follow the prompts. The reset link is sent to both your Side email and any personal email associated with your Okta account.
This happens after too many incorrect password attempts. On the lock screen, enter your Side branded email and click Email — or click "Unlock Account" in the automated email Okta sends you. After clicking the link, verify your identity via SMS code to unlock your account. If you continue to have trouble, contact help@side.com.
Reach out to chat support or email help@side.com — a support specialist can resend your activation link.
Try these steps in order: (1) Hard refresh the page — Command + Shift + R (Mac) or Control + Shift + R (Windows). (2) Clear your Chrome cache and cookies. (3) Try opening in a Chrome Incognito window. (4) If the issue persists, try a different browser (Firefox or Safari) to isolate whether it's browser-specific. Side works best in Chrome.
Clear your cache and cookies first. If that doesn't work, try opening in an Incognito window or a different browser, then navigate directly to presentbyside.com and log in with your Side branded email and your MoxiPresent password (separate from your Okta password). Use the password reset link on the MoxiPresent login page if needed.
Contact chat support or email help@side.com to investigate your Luxury Presence access setup.
Use at least 14 characters. Avoid predictable sequences like "123456" or "password." Mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. Consider a passphrase — a string of random words is both long and memorable. Never reuse passwords across accounts.
