If you experience issues after clicking the envelope icon to generate and send an Offer Package—such as:
-
A blank window appears
-
A new tab opens but stays blank
-
Outlook (or another mail client) launches unexpectedly
…it’s likely due to a browser or email handler setting.
Common Causes:
-
Gmail is not set as your default email handler
-
Your browser’s pop-up blocker is enabled
-
Third-party redirects are blocked in your settings
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Allow Pop-Ups and Redirects in Chrome
-
Open Google Chrome
-
Click the three vertical dots (top-right corner) > Settings
-
Navigate to Privacy and security > Site Settings
-
Scroll to and click Pop-ups and redirects
-
Select “Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects”
-
Under Customized Behaviors, remove any sites listed under “Not allowed to send pop-ups or use redirects”
Step 2: Set Gmail as the Default Email Handler
Option 1: From Gmail (Fastest Method)
-
Log into your Side-provided Gmail account
-
Look for the double diamond icon in the address bar (far right)
-
Click the icon and select “Allow”
-
Refresh your browser window
If you don’t see the diamond icon, proceed to Option 2.
Option 2: From Chrome Settings
-
Close all open Gmail tabs
-
In the Chrome address bar, type:
chrome://settings/handlers -
Remove any listed entries under handlers
-
Ensure “Allow sites to ask to become default handlers for protocols” is turned on
-
Close the tab
-
Reopen Gmail — you should now see the diamond icon. Click it to set Gmail as the default handler
If the icon doesn’t appear, try quitting and relaunching Chrome.
Once you've completed these steps, return to the Offer Package flow and click the envelope icon again. It should now open a new Gmail compose window with your documents attached.
