There are several possible causes if you encounter an error while generating the offer package.
Common Causes of the Error
Usually the issue is related to one or several documents that have been uploaded under one of the left side menu buttons.
- Cover Letter
- Proof of Funds
- Pre-Qual
- Signed Disclosures
STEP 1: Do All Uploaded Documents Open Properly?
Click each document that has been uploaded to ensure they open properly.
If a document opens up to a black screen with a broken image icon, delete that file and upload another copy.
STEP 2: Password Protected, Encrypted Documents
Many times documents uploaded under the Proof of Funds tab have been password protected at one point or had some type of encryption.
- Download a copy of each document. Do Not Delete the Original, yet.
- Open the downloaded document
- Create a new PDF by going to File > Export as PDF within the downloaded document.
- Give the new PDF the same title as the original.
- Upload back to the Side App.
- Now you can delete the original version.
- Test out Generating the Offer once this has been completed for each document.
