Getting Access
Who Gets a Canva Account?
| Role | Access | How to Request |
|---|---|---|
| Partners | Automatically provisioned | Check your Okta dashboard — the Canva tile should already be there. If not, submit the Growth Tools request form. |
| Associate Agents | Available by request | Submit the Growth Tools request form. |
| Marketing Admin (1 per team) | 1 complimentary seat included | Email help@side.com — your team must have an active Canva account first. |
| Additional non-agent users | Available for purchase | Additional seats beyond the complimentary admin seat are $100/year. Email help@side.com to purchase. |
After Submitting the Onboarding Form
Once you've submitted the Canva Onboarding Form, here's what happens:
- Side adds your email domain to Side's Canva Enterprise account. Canva recognises your team as part of Side's Enterprise environment.
- Team members receive an automated email from no-reply@canva.com with the subject "Your account is being added to Side Community on Canva." This is legitimate — click through to accept.
- If a team member already has a Canva account under your branded domain, it will be moved under Side's Enterprise account. Their existing designs are preserved in a workspace called "[Their Name] Team."
- Your team's brand kit and templates are configured. Once that's complete, agents can log in and start designing.
Logging In
Canva is accessed through your Okta dashboard — no separate password needed.
- Log into sideagent.okta.com.
- Click the Canva tile.
- You'll be taken directly into your team's Canva account — no additional login required.
Brand Kit & Templates
Your team's brand kit is pre-loaded into your Canva account — colors, fonts, and logos are already set up. When you create a design, your brand assets are available in the left-hand panel under Brand.
Who Can Edit the Brand Kit?
Only users with the Brand Designer role can edit the brand kit — adding or changing colors, fonts, and logos. By default, this role is not assigned to all users.
Requesting Brand Designer Access
Partners can request Brand Designer access for any team member. Email help@side.com with the team member's name and email address.
EOs with Sub-team Branding
If your sub-team has approved co-branding, you can create and manage your own brand kit within your account. Contact help@side.com to get this set up.
Restricting Brand Assets
Partners can lock the brand kit so team members can only use approved fonts and colors in their designs — preventing off-brand use. To enable this setting, email help@side.com.
Team Name Not Showing on Homepage?
The Canva homepage only displays a logo — there's no field for a team name. You should see your team's logo centered at the top. If the logo is missing or incorrect, email help@side.com.
Transactions & Photos in Canva
Canva connects to the Side App so your transaction data auto-populates into listing flyers, social posts, and other property designs — no manual data entry needed.
Which Transactions Appear?
You'll see the same transactions in Canva that you can see in the Side App — based on your transaction sharing permissions. The following statuses are excluded and will not appear in Canva:
- Cancelled, Expired, Lost, Rejected, Withdrawn
Archived transactions will still appear in Canva as long as they're not in one of the excluded statuses above.
Syncing Times
| Data Type | Sync Time |
|---|---|
| Transaction details (address, price, dates) | Immediately — refresh the page if data isn't showing |
| Photos uploaded to the Side App | Shortly after upload — only photos manually uploaded to the Side App will appear in Canva |
| New or updated transaction data | Up to 5 minutes — use the refresh button if data hasn't updated |
Adding Photos for Use in Canva
- Open the transaction in the Side App.
- Click Edit Cover Photo on the transaction.
- Upload your photos — these will be available in Canva once synced.
Team Access & Roles Partners
| Role | What They Can Do | How to Assign |
|---|---|---|
| Member | Create and edit their own designs, access brand templates and brand kit assets. | Default role for all provisioned team members. |
| Brand Designer | Create and edit brand kits and brand templates, manage brand template usage reports, publishing and scheduling permissions. | Email help@side.com with the user's name and email. |
| Admin / Owner | Reserved for internal Side use only — cannot be assigned to agents or team members. | N/A |
Personal Canva Accounts
If you already have a personal Canva account — whether using your Side branded email or a personal email — here's what you need to know.
Account Using Your Side Branded Email
When your team is added to Side's Canva Enterprise account, Canva will send you an email from no-reply@canva.com explaining what's happening. Your existing designs will be moved into a separate workspace called "[Your Name] Team" so you can still access them. If you want to keep your personal account completely separate, click the link in that email to update the email address on your existing account before the transition completes.
Account Using a Personal Email
Your personal Canva account on a non-Side email isn't affected. You can still access it separately. To transfer designs from your personal account to your Side account, Canva provides several options for moving or copying content between accounts.
Canva's guide to copying, sharing, and moving designs between your personal and team accounts.
Importing Designs from Marq
If you have existing designs in Marq or other platforms, you can import them into Canva as PDFs.
From Marq
- Open your design in Marq.
- Click Share → Download → PDF.
- Under format, select PDF Print.
- Click Advanced Settings and select PDF-X for the best import quality.
- In Canva, click Create a design → Import file and upload the PDF.
From Adobe (Illustrator or Photoshop)
Adobe files import most accurately when exported as an Adobe PDF or directly from Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. For best results, use File → Export → Export As → PDF in Adobe, then import that file into Canva.

Common Questions
Check that the transaction is in an eligible status (not Cancelled, Expired, Lost, Rejected, or Withdrawn). If the status is eligible, refresh the page — data should appear within 5 minutes. If it still doesn't appear, contact help@side.com.
Only photos that are manually uploaded to the Side App will sync to Canva — MLS-sourced photos don't transfer. Upload your listing photos directly to the transaction cover photo in the Side App, then they'll appear in Canva.
