Follow Up Boss: Setup, Sync & Getting Help
How to connect Follow Up Boss to Side, manage your contacts, and get the most out of your CRM as a Side agent.
Accessing Follow Up Boss
Follow Up Boss (FUB) is your CRM for managing leads and client relationships. It's provisioned as part of Side's Growth Tools and accessed through your Okta dashboard.
- Log into sideagent.okta.com and click the Follow Up Boss tile.
- Sign in with your Side branded email address — not a personal email. This is required for the Okta integration and Side App contact sync to work correctly.
- If you don't have an active account yet, submit the Growth Tools request form to get provisioned.
Connecting FUB to the Side App
Connecting FUB to the Side App allows your contacts to auto-fill on transaction Cover Sheets — saving you from entering client details manually on every transaction.
How to Connect
- In the Side App, click your name in the lower-left corner of the sidebar → Account.
- Find the Connected Accounts section.
- Click Connect Follow Up Boss Contacts and follow the prompts to authorise the connection.
How to Check If You're Already Connected
Go to Account → Connected Accounts. If you see your account email and a Disconnect button, your account is already linked and contacts are syncing.
Contacts & Data Sync
How Sync Works

Exporting Contacts
Contact exports are available to account Owners by default — typically Partner Agents. If you need to export your contacts and don't have access, ask your Partner to either run the export for you or grant you the Owner role.

Lead Flow Setup
FUB is most powerful when your leads flow in automatically from your sources — Zillow, your website, Luxury Presence, and others. Here's how to get each set up.
Connecting Your Email Inbox
Many lead sources send leads via email. Connecting your inbox to FUB ensures those emails are automatically parsed and created as contacts. Go to Admin → Lead Sources → Connect Your Email in FUB for setup instructions.

Changing Your Role
Role changes — including requesting Admin access — must go through your brand's Partner Agent. Partners control role assignments in FUB for their team. Contact your Partner directly to request a role change.
Email Settings
Login Email vs. Connected Email
FUB distinguishes between two email addresses on your account:

Alias Emails
FUB does not support alias emails or Google Group email addresses as a "from" address. Emails can only be sent from the connected Gmail inbox associated with your account. If you have an alias you'd like to use, it isn't currently possible to configure this within FUB.

Common Questions
Contact data flows one way: FUB → Side App. Changes made in the Side App do not sync back to FUB. Always make contact updates in FUB directly so they flow through to all connected tools.
The most common cause is missing tags in FUB. Every contact must have at least one tag to sync to ActivePipe — FUB stages don't trigger the sync. Add a tag to the contact in FUB and allow up to 2 hours for the first sync to complete.
Try logging in directly at followupboss.com using your email and password (not Sign in with Google or Microsoft). If that works, the issue is with your Okta connection — contact help@side.com. If you can't log in directly either, your account may not be provisioned — submit the Growth Tools request form.
First confirm the integration is set up in FUB's integrations settings. For Luxury Presence leads, confirm the lead flow is configured in your Luxury Presence admin. For Zillow and other platforms, confirm your inbox is connected in FUB. If the setup looks correct but leads still aren't coming through, contact support@followupboss.com.
Your Okta email cannot be changed, and FUB requires your login to match your Side branded email for the Okta integration to work. You can set a different connected email for inbox sync and client communication — but the login itself must remain your Side branded address.
In FUB itself, visibility depends on your role — Admins and Owners can see all team contacts. In the Side App specifically, when adding a contact to a transaction, you'll only see the primary agent's FUB contacts — not contacts from other team members even if you have access to the transaction.
