ActivePipe: Training Resources & Getting Help
Where to learn ActivePipe, how to get account access, and answers to the most common setup questions.
Accessing ActivePipe
ActivePipe is provisioned as part of Side's Growth Tools. Access it from your Okta dashboard by clicking the ActivePipe tile. If you don't see the tile, your account may not yet be active — see below to request access.
Requesting or Reactivating Access
If you're new to Side, need to reactivate a lapsed account, or are getting an error when clicking the ActivePipe tile in Okta, submit the Growth Tools request form. Do not contact ActivePipe directly for access issues — provisioning is managed by Side.
| Issue | Who to Contact |
|---|---|
| No ActivePipe tile in Okta / account not yet active | Submit the Growth Tools request form, or contact help@side.com |
| Error clicking the ActivePipe tile | Submit the Growth Tools request form, or contact help@side.com |
| Technical issues inside the platform (emails not sending, data errors) | support@activepipe.com |
| Requesting ability to upload external contact lists | help@side.com — disabled by default when FUB is connected |
Training Resources
ActivePipe has training available from two sources — Side's own 360Learning library for Side-specific guidance, and ActivePipe's own support site for platform how-tos.
Side-specific training covering account setup, newsletter creation, and how ActivePipe fits into your Side workflow. Search "ActivePipe" in 360Learning to find all available courses and recordings.
ActivePipe's own library of how-to videos and articles. Covers campaign creation, email templates, contact management, and the Insights panel in detail.
Step-by-step walkthrough for building and sending your first email campaign to your contact list.
Covers adding properties to emails, filtering, template customization, and working with content blocks. Also includes a guide on adding and filtering properties in email designs.
Contacts & FUB Sync
ActivePipe pulls your contact list from Follow Up Boss (FUB). Understanding how the sync works will save you a lot of troubleshooting time.
| Sync Type | Frequency | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| New contacts added to ActivePipe | Hourly | Contact must have at least one tag in FUB — any tag |
| Contact updates (new email, new tags) | Daily at 6pm PST | Changes made before 6pm PST appear the next day |
| First-time sync after setup | Up to 2 hours | All contacts in FUB must be tagged |
Uploading External Contact Lists
Email list upload is disabled by default when you have FUB connected, to avoid duplicates. If you need to upload an external list (e.g. a sphere of influence list that isn't in FUB), contact help@side.com to request this to be enabled. Note that uploading contact lists may result in duplicate contacts — reconcile your FUB database first if possible.
"From" and "Reply-To" Email Addresses
The From and Reply-To email addresses in ActivePipe are fixed and cannot be changed. These settings are locked to ensure email deliverability and compliance with email marketing standards.
Market Data & Insights
What Data Is Available
The Insights panel lets you drag and drop live MLS data directly into your emails. Two formats are available:
| Format | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Charts | Line or bar graph of one metric over time: Average & Median Listing Prices, Listing vs Sold Price %, Listing Volume, or Average Days on Market. |
| Statistics | Up to 4 data points from your selected market area: Average/Median List & Sold Price, List vs Sold Price %, New Listings, Sold Listings, Average Days on Market. |
Using Multiple Markets in One Email
You can add the market stats block multiple times in the same email and set a different market area for each one. While editing the email, scroll to the Insights section on the right panel, add the block, then click the light blue button at the bottom right of each statistics block to select a different city or market area.
My Market Isn't Available
ActivePipe supports markets where Side agents have reached $10M and 10 units in production over the trailing 12 months. Markets are reviewed on a quarterly cadence. To request a city or county that isn't listed, email help@side.com — they'll add it to the review list. Check the supported markets spreadsheet to see if yours has been added.
Common Questions
Check that your contact list is correctly synced from FUB and that contacts have valid email addresses. For delivery issues beyond list setup, contact ActivePipe support at support@activepipe.com — they can review your sending domain and deliverability settings.
Yes. You can manually override any smart field in an ActivePipe design template by typing in the information directly. This lets you customize or correct data for off-market, coming soon, or new build properties.
First confirm your listing is visible on Realtor.com. If not, check that it's set to "public" on your MLS. If it's public but still missing in ActivePipe, contact help@side.com with the property address, MLS ID, list date, name of the MLS, and a Realtor.com link.
The properties tab updates every 8 hours, starting at 1pm PST.
Add the market stats block multiple times while editing your email. Click the light blue button at the bottom right of each block to independently set a different city or market area for each one.
